The Wiscasset Brain Health Center takes an active, whole-person approach to brain health, helping people protect cognitive function, respond to early changes, and remain active, engaged, and connected to life.  At the heart of the Center is the Brain Health Academy, where these principles come to life through movement, nutrition, brain stimulation, social connection, creativity, and purposeful activity.

A Place to Stay Curious, Active, & Connected

Caring for your brain should feel like living fully.

At Wiscasset Brain Health Center, movement, conversation, creativity, music, nutritious food, nature, learning, and meaningful activity are all part of the experience.

Whether you're thinking proactively about your long-term brain health, beginning to notice changes, or already navigating cognitive challenges, you'll find a welcoming place to stay involved, challenged, connected, and engaged in your own well-being.

Discover how our individually tailored approach brings these elements together into a practical, whole-person approach to brain health.

Our Approach

The Four Pillars of the Boothbay Protocol

The Boothbay Protocol grew from Dr. Allan “Chip” Teel’s work with the Brain Health Group at Boothbay Region Health Center, building on research by Dr. Dale Bredesen and others.  Since 2020, the collaborative program has grown from 28 participants to more than 100 and continues to evolve through shared experience and emerging research.  The insights developed through this work have become what we now call the Boothbay Protocol, which provides the foundation for the Brain Health Academy’s curriculum and approach.

Brain Health Academy

Brain health is something you can work on.  Lovingly referred to as our 'Brain Bootcamp,' The Brain Health Academy is for people who want to stay sharp, protect their cognitive health, and take action early - before small changes become bigger ones.
